The Village of Cashton is located atop of the scenic rolling hills of Monroe County and is adjacent to Vernon County. The population is 1,158. Cashton was established in 1879.
Cashton has become one of the first communities to create a business development that houses companies who create and utilize renewable and clean energy. Organic Valley is one the major businesses that has grown into this community with adding a warehouse, a distribution center and an office building in the Greens Business Park.
There is a large community of Amish families around the city of Cashton which contributes to the economy and culture with their talents and small businesses. Growers Farmers Produce is one of the Amish's largest businesses where the community comes together to buy and sell their crafts and goods. Cashton also has K&K Cheese where cheese is made from milk from the local Amish dairy farms.
The second Saturday in September is the Cashton Fall Fest. It is a celebration where the community comes together with events such as an antique tractor pull, run/walk, arts/crafts, carnival and parade. Fun for the whole family.
