Spring Facts:

  1. The term “spring” for this season wasn’t always used. It was known as Lent until the 16th century.
  2. In the Southern Hemisphere, the month that starts spring there is September.
  3. The robin is the bird most often associated with spring in North America.
  4. The last official day of spring is June 21st. 
  5. Tornadoes are more prevalent in spring.
  6. The first day of spring has 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night.
  7. According to the National Association of Realtors, spring is the most popular season to sell/buy a house.
  8. It is a myth that you can only balance an egg on its end during spring equinox. You can do that any day of the year with the right egg, practice and a little patience.

 

When is a good time to buy or sell a home?                     

Spring! According to Rocket Mortgage, the warm weather and end of the school year tend to draw out sellers and buyers in droves and that creates a healthy marketplace. One reason sales inventory tends to increase in spring is that houses show better. Once the snow is gone, the yard and landscape can be seen. Trees and flowers are in bloom, grass is green, and houses just look better in the spring sunlight. Another reason buying a home in spring is popular is because families want to get moved in and settled before the next school year begins.

Spring Cleaning 

Days are filled with more sunshine. Temps are warming up. Flowers are starting to grow. Birds are singing. Spring is here! With the cold and grey of winter fading away, spring brings a sense of warmth, newness, and freshness. Many start to feel the urge to do some spring cleaning in and outside of their homes. Experts say that doing a thorough clean in spring of your home is good for you. It helps lighten your mood, improves your health and strengthens your immune system and it is good exercise. Decluttering your house can also help reduce stress and depression. 

As you start to think about spring cleaning and projects you want to do, it might be a little overwhelming. Make a list, room by room, and then set a day and time to complete each task so it is more manageable. Plan, prepare and prioritize each task. 

 

Real Estate and Home Expo Event May 3

You are invited to join us for our 1st Annual Home Expo on Wednesday, May 3 from 4-7pm. This event will be held at New Directions Real Estate located at 110 N. Main Street in Westby. This will be a one stop open house for you to meet lenders, inspectors, movers, contractors, landscapers, and title companies. Food trucks from Dave’s Pizza and Udder Brothers Creamery will be onsite for you to purchase dinner and/or dessert. 

Homebuyer Q & A sessions on the hour at 5pm, 6pm and 7pm.
